This organization is designated by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a registered charity. They comply with the CRA's requirements and have been issued a charitable registration number.
We empower volunteers, nonprofits, and civic groups to advance inclusion, connection, and dignity, creating stronger communities for all.
Community Volunteer Connections connects people who want to volunteer with opportunities where they can make a difference. We bring people together by providing access to resources, support, and programs that make volunteering easier and more meaningful.
We believe volunteer opportunities should be accessible to everyone, strengthening both individuals and the overall well-being of the communities they serve. By making volunteer opportunities accessible, we help both individuals, who gain skills, confidence, and community connections, and the community as a whole, which becomes stronger and more connected through volunteer efforts.
Our work focuses on several communities in British Columbia, specifically the Tri-Cities area (Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Coquitlam, Anmore and Belcarra), as well as Surrey and New Westminster.
To encourage and facilitate volunteerism, we:
- Refer people to volunteer opportunities posted on our online volunteer platform, social media channels, and volunteer newsletter;
- Provide personalized support for adults living with developmental disabilities to gain access to volunteer roles that support their personal goals and intentions;
- Provide one-to-one volunteer support for adults living with mental health challenges, to enhance their well-being, and aid them in recovery;
- Steward relationships through hosted recruitment fairs to connect people with representatives who work in the voluntary and public sector and rely on volunteers;
- Guide organizations on best practices in volunteer stewardship by offering free access to personalized advice, information sessions, and online webinars.
- Facilitate information sessions for high school youth, to help them gain valuable insights on how to find volunteer opportunities in preparation for future education and employment requirements.
